On 10 May 2014 the General Assembly of the Friends of the Foundation, chaired by President Giancarlo Zanardo, was held at the "Francesco Baracca" airfield in Nervesa della Battaglia.
On 10 May 2014 the General Assembly of the Friends of the Foundation, chaired by President Giancarlo Zanardo, was held at the "Francesco Baracca" airfield (Nervesa della Battaglia, TV), home of the "Jonathan Collection – Famous Historic Aircraft – O.N.L.U.S." Foundation.
As scheduled, the activities carried out in 2013 and the projects planned for 2014 were presented during the event. In particular, it was noted that 2013 was a very positive year both for the completion of the facilities (entrance and hangar) and for flying activity, enriched by the acquisition of the SE 5A biplane and the Fokker Eindecker.
As regards the facilities, the escalator was also installed in the room that will house the flight simulator that the Province will shortly place at the Foundation as part of the ALISTO project (wings in history). This project will bring a considerable influx of students and schoolchildren, who will be able to see the sites of the Great War as if they were protagonists, aboard a period aircraft. In this regard, visits to the Foundation are already attracting considerable interest from schools and groups, an activity that is growing steadily.
Among future projects is the construction of a new hangar designed by Vice President Arch. Renato Fornaciari, whose plan has already been submitted to the Municipality. The hope is that it can be built soon, as it would give visitors adequate space to view the aircraft.
Other projects include the construction of the Spad XIII in Francesco Baracca's livery, officially approved by the Board. It will be a twin of the aircraft already built, now at the "Vincenzo Colognese" Piave Museum.
The celebrations for the Centenary of the Great War will begin soon, and the Foundation's museum complex is among those highlighted in the Veneto Region's Master Plan. We hope the resources deriving from this recognition will help fund the new exhibition facility.
Among the 2014 activities, Baracca Day 2014 will be held on 15 June, while the Solidali event will take place on 30/31 August.
At the end of the day, two complimentary flights were drawn among those present, won by Walter Raccanelli and Gabriele Chinaglia.
