On 6 September the national aerobatic team, our beloved FRECCE TRICOLORI, celebrated its 55th anniversary — with the Foundation's SPAD XIII R flying alongside two Eurofighters of the 91st Squadron.
On 6 September the national aerobatic team, our beloved FRECCE TRICOLORI, celebrated the 55th anniversary of the team.
On that occasion, the latest aircraft born at the Jonathan Collection Foundation, the SPAD XIII R (a replica of the aircraft bearing the insignia of the ace of aces Francesco Baracca, Gold Medal for Military Valour), flew together with two Eurofighters of the 91st Squadron, part of the 10th Stormo, whose tails were painted like the SPAD XIII R I-JONA with the black prancing horse.
The prancing horse that in 1927 Countess Paolina Biancoli, mother of Francesco Baracca, gave to Enzo Ferrari with the words: "this will bring you luck!".
The air show, attended by 450,000 people and featuring more than 11 international aerobatic teams, was covered by national television and will be featured in the aviation press.
The event closed with the display of the Frecce Tricolori, drawing great admiration.
