The Foundation
The "Jonathan Collection – Famous Historical Aircraft – O.N.L.U.S." Foundation is a non-profit organisation created to preserve and share the collection of historical aircraft built by Giancarlo Zanardo, and to keep the historical memory of aviation alive by promoting flying as a historical and social value.
The Foundation is based in Nervesa della Battaglia (Treviso), at the "Francesco Baracca" airfield at the foot of the Montello hill: a place deeply tied to the events of the Great War and to the memory of the Italian Ace after whom the field is named.
The aircraft of the collection — faithful flying reproductions of vintage aeroplanes — are kept inside the Bessoneau Type H hangar, the last original example from the First World War still used for this purpose, and are regularly flown at public events and air shows.
The Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors chaired by its founder Giancarlo Zanardo, bringing together pilots, aviation historians and professionals from the world of flight.
Supporting the Foundation
Anyone can contribute to the Foundation's activities: by becoming a Friend of the Foundation with the annual membership cards, or by allocating their 5×1000 in their tax return. Every contribution helps keep the collection's aircraft flying and pass the historical memory of aviation on to new generations.
